most undeniable players You’ll be getting to know Maddie Martin and Stephanie Holthus a lot over the next four years as they transition into their college careers, Maddie with Penn State and Stephanie with Northwestern. But, before they go on to become the next stars of the Big Ten Conference, they were the Most Undeniable Players of the 2009 Under Armour All-America Volleyball Match; read on to find out more about these two future stars of the collegiate game. Recruiting Process 1. When did you start getting letters from colleges? 8th grade 2. What are some of the other colleges you considered? Several, but I only seriously considered Stanford and Texas (in addition to Penn State) 3. What advice would you give to young girls going through the recruiting process? Be patient Maddie Martin Athletic Experience & Background 1. How did you get exposed to volleyball? Summer volleyball camps. 2. Did anyone else in your family play collegiate or professional sports? My brother Cam is a wide receiver at Michigan State. My brother Luke is a defensive back at Elon. My dad played football at the University of Kentucky, and was later drafted by the Chicago Bears. 3. What is the best moment of your volleyball career? Winning four State Championships. 4. What advice would you give to young girls playing volleyball? Always try to be the kind of player that your teammates can count on. Just For Fun 1. Best thing about where you’re from? The sun and the beaches 2. One word that describes you? Happy 3. If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go? Greece 4. What do you want to be when you grow up? Something with broadcasting or maybe teaching. I want to be involved with volleyball in the future as well. Complete the sentence 1. I play best when...the competition is tough. 2. If I were coaching…I would make sure the players were having fun while learning. 3. The best thing about volleyball is... being a part of a close team. 4.
