Skin Care

Skin is the largest human organ, and it plays a vital role as your body’s first line of defense against infection and other harsh elements.Good skin care and healthy lifestyle choices can help delay the natural aging process and prevent many skin problems.

Skin care

The following are four basic steps for keeping Your skin in good condition. Steps one through three should be repeated twice daily.

1. Clean (Cleanser should be: ph balanced, chemical additives free, and botanically based) – removes dirt and oil - rinse

2. Tone (keeps face fi rm and maintains elasticity) – not necessary for younger audience – no rinse

3. Moisturize – hydrates skin from outside and keeps it smooth and refreshed – no rinse

4. Exfoliate (once a week) – takes off dead layer of cells, improves complexion and prevents blackheads - rinse According to Lisa Ashley of l.a. girlfriend, who specalizes in skin care for teens, there are many myths concerning The upkeep of the skin. Let’s take a look at a few!

• Myth: Junk food and chocolate cause acne.

Wrong: There is no proof that these foods will worsen acne. Don’t get too excited. (You are what you eat!)

• Myth: Acne can be cured.

Not yet! But it can be treated and managed effectively by using proper skin care daily.

• Myth: Lots of stress causes acne.

Yes! Stress causes hormones to change which makes oil glands go into over-drive, then pores get clogged.

(So chill out, and don’t sweat the small stuff!)

• Myth: Don’t use a moisturizer when you have oily skin.

Wrong: Yes, use a moisturizer, but choose a moisturizer that suits your skin type. Learn your skin type. Make sure not to use any harsh products.

• Myth: Sun can improve acne.

Wrong: Tanning looks good and masks the blemishes, but the effects are temporary. Excessive sun exposure aggravates acne, destroys cells and causes sun dehydration! Moderate sun and lots of sunscreen.

“We believe that you are never too young to be on a good skin care routine,” remarked Ashley.

Now that you’ve learned a bit about your skin, here are a few products that Phenom recommends:
